LIBRARY CLOSURE
August 25, 2020As a result of the serious and imminent threat of Coronavirus, the Redondo Beach Library Department is taking significant action to help safeguard the community and our employees. Effective at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Redondo Beach Public Library will close both the Main Library and the North Branch, and these closures will remain in effect until further notice.
Our digital services remain available to our patrons 24/7 and can be found under "Electronic Resources" and “Downloads and Streaming." Library staff has also compiled a list of free internet resources for you to enjoy.
“Library Takeout” begins on July 1st so that patrons can pick up the materials they have placed on hold. A face mask is required per state order. This is the first step of a phased reopening; modifications to days and hours of this service will be posted on the Library website.
Donations of books or other materials may be placed in the exterior Discover Books bins at both Library locations. If you have newer donations that you would like considered for the collection, please hold on to those until the Library reopens.
Returned Library materials may be quarantined for up to one week before check in.
Please visit the City's webpage for updates.
