The Library subscribes to a selection local and international newspapers, and to a variety of popular magazines. Available titles and their dates can be found either by searching the online catalog, or by consulting the printouts at the electronic databases table. Current and back issues of newspapers and magazines are kept on the open shelves. At the Main Library some periodicals are stored on microfilm or microfiche, and these can be found, along with the appropriate reading machines, just west of the reference desk. In addition to providing periodicals in the traditional print format, the Library also has the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Daily Breeze, and a variety of other newspapers, magazines, and journals available in electronic databases.
