BCT provides community-based service for residents and visitors that results in reduced traffic congestion and parking problems, provides convenient connections with other transit providers operating in the South Bay, initiates new transit to employment sites, encourages residents to choose transit rather than driving alone and provides exclusive paratransit service for senior and disabled residents of Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach.

o Route #102 operates between 6:00am and 8:00pm, on 20 to 45 minute headways, serving the Redondo Beach Pier, Civic Center, Redondo Union High School, Beach Cities Health District, South Bay Galleria, aerospace companies in North Redondo and the Marine Avenue Green Line station.

• Connects with Metro Marine Avenue Green Line trains to facilitate commuter trips using the County's rail system
• Connects with Torrance Transit, Gardena Municipal Bus Lines, and Metro at the South Bay Galleria Transit Center; enabling residents to access a multitude of transit destinations throughout Los Angeles

o Route #104 operates between 7:00am and 6:00pm, on 70 minute headways and will serve the Redondo Beach Pier, the Riviera Village business and residential communities, South Torrance High School, MTA and Torrance Transit connections, and the Del Amo Fashion Center and surrounding employment area.

• Is within walking distance of South High School in Torrance
• Provides service to the Del Amo Fashion Plaza

  o Route 109 operates between 6:00am and 10:00pm, on 20-40 minute headways serving the Redondo Beach Riviera Village, Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach, Downtown Manhattan Beach, Downtown El Segundo, , Plaza El Segundo, the Metro Aviation Green Line Station and the LAX City Bus Center.

  • Links to Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

    • Connects with the Metro Aviation Green Line Station

      BCT fixed routes were designed to facilitate use of public transit for commuter work and school trips and provide an alternative to automobile travel for recreational trips.

      Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip. Enter your starting point, where you want to travel to, the day you want to travel and the time of day your trip will take place. The trip planner will tell you what line to take and where to catch it.

      Routes 102, 104 and 109 offer residents with an alternative to driving to

    • LAX City Bus Center
    • shopping excursions at the South Bay Galleria, Del Amo Fashion Center, Artesia Blvd, Rivera Village and destinations in between

      BCT users can save money by taking transit instead of paying the high cost of gasoline or feeding parking meters.

      Holiday Service

      Saturday service will be operated on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veterans Day.

      Fixed-route service does not operate on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

      Beach Cities Transit fixed-route fares are:

      The City currently provides LACMTA Bus Pass Subsidies for Redondo Beach residents and upon service implementation, resident bus pass subsidies will also be applied to Beach Cities Transit (BCT) passes.
