We are located through door C, of the Redondo Beach City Hall at 415 Diamond Street, Redondo Beach. We will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The passport window is closed every Friday. Our phone number is (310) 318-0656.
In order to apply for your passport you must:
Complete an application form.
Every applicant must appear in person, including all minors.
Present current valid identification (California Drivers License, State I.D. card).
Submit proof of United States citizenship: birth certificate from the State or County where birth took place or original naturalization certificate).
BIRTH CERTIFICATE:
Abstracts of Birth and hospital issued birth certificates are NOT acceptable citizenship.
Show the full name of the parent(s);
Be issued by the office of vital statistics of the sate, county, or city where the birth occurred;
Show the full name of the child at birth;
Indicate the date and place of birth;
Bear the embossed, impressed, multi-colored, or raised seal and signature of the issuing authority;
Indicate a registration or file date that is within one year of the birth; and
Be an original and certified document (notarized copies and photocopies are not accepted).
UNITED STATES BIRTH CERTIFICATES THAT DO NOT MEET THESE STANDARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE AS PRIMARY EVIDIENCE OF CITIZENSHIP
Bring in one recent passport photo.
Pay required fees by check or money order. (Check writer must provide ID)
Minor must have both parents or a notarized consent form non attending parent
NON- appying parent/gaurdian must provide a copy of the front and back of his./her ID.
Minors MUST have a copy of thier original birth certificate
How much does it cost? (Effective July 13, 2010)
Passport Book fee: $110.00 for adults (16 and over), $80.00 for persons under 16. We only accept checks or money orders made out to "Department of State". Passport Card fee: $30 for adults (16 and over), $15 for persons under 16. Passport Cards are valid only for land or sea travel from the United States to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Carribbean.
Processing fee: $25 per applicant. We accept cash, check, or money order made payable to "City of Redondo Beach". This fee is collected at all acceptance facilities.
After your application has been processed it will take approximately 4-6 weeks to receive a passport from the Department of State Passport Agency. You may pay an extra $60 fee plus express mail ($12.72) returning for a minimum 2-3 week delivery.
