Coronavirus COVID-19 Alerts

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, City offices are closed to the public until further notice.

Effective March 23, 2020, Beach Cities Transit (BCT) is running a modified service schedule due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  BCT buses are running on a Modified Service #1 Schedule  until November 15, 2020. Effective November 16, 2020 BCT buses will run on Modified Service #2 Schedule until further notice.

Effective March 29, 2021 Beach Cities Transit (BCT) will resume operation of bus tripper service during RBUSD on-campus school days. The BCT Line 102 revised schedule is based on the RBUSD school schedules for the remainder of the 2020-21 year. BCT Line 102 additional on-campus school day services will operate before and after school until June 10, 2021 pending school schedule. Please refer to the general schedule for all trips.  Click here for 102 RBUSD 2020-21 On Campus School Day Schedule.

Until further notice, no fare payment will be required.

Out of an abundance of caution and to provide further protection for our employees and the public, all boarding on BCT buses will occur at the rear of the bus. The front door will remain closed, and the Operator area will be restricted. However, those using mobility devices and need access to the bus via the ramp will still be able to access through the front door.  Please let the Operator know if you need to use the ramp.

BCT passengers are required to wear face coverings and masks on our buses.  Wearing a face covering while out in public can protect others from the spread of COVID-19.

We ask to limit travel to only essential trips, maintain physical distance from others, wash hands frequently and use other good hygiene practices.

If you are sick, we ask you not to ride BCT services. We urge you to continue to practice CDC safety guidelines when dealing with Coronavirus COVID-19.

  • Please stay home if you are sick
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Limit close contact with others, and practice social distancing

Stay safe and healthy!
