Preferential Parking Permits 

  • ***2023 Preferential Parking Permits will be mailed out starting on December 5th, 2022.***
  • Vehicles in these zones must purchase and display annual permits to be exempt from parking prohibitions or restrictions that are posted.
  • The Preferential Parking Permit is valid from the date of purchase and expires on December 31st.
  • How to Purchase
    • Complete and sign, under penalty of perjury, a Preferential Parking Permit Application Form.
    • Provide proof of residency via one of the following original documents dated within 30 days of your request:
      • Gas, electric, or water bill
      • Proof of property ownership (tax bill or escrow papers)
      • Rental/lease agreement 
    • Pay online, in-person, or by mail. ($15 per permit / $1.75 per plastic hanger)
      • Online
        • Visit the Online Payment Portal and click on 'PREFERENTIAL PARKING PERMITS'. 
        • Enter the appropriate dollar amount in the 'Amount' box. 
          •  Ex. To purchase 4 permits with 4 hangers, enter 67.00 into the box.
        • Click 'Add to cart' and check out.
        • Print out the confirmation email. 
        • Note: There is a 3% online transaction fee.
      • In-Person
        • Check or money order (made payable to the City of Redondo Beach)
        • Cash
        • Card
          • Note: There is a 3% card payment fee.
      • By Mail
        • Check or money order (made payable to the City of Redondo Beach)
          • Do not send cash by mail - it will not be accepted
        • Provide a self-addressed envelope so we can mail you the permit.
        • Mail your application and payment to:

    • Obtain permit(s)
      • In-Person
        • City Hall, Door 2 - 415 Diamond St, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
        • Bring your completed application, proof of residency, and form of payment (if paying in-person) or confirmation email (if paid online).
      • By Mail
        • Please await your permit in the mail if you mailed us an application, proof of residency, and payment.
  • You may purchase a maximum of four (4) permits.
  • You may inquire about obtaining additional one-day temporary parking permits by calling the Parking Enforcement Office Monday through Friday during business hours. Please plan ahead to avoid calling on a Friday when City Hall is closed.

Lost or Stolen Permits

You must:

  • Complete another application
  • Show current proof of residency
  • Pay a replacement fee
