10-2.1612 Building moving.
- (a) Purpose. The moving of an existing building from outside the City to a site within the City, or from site to site within the City, requires specialized review to insure neighborhood compatibility, structural integrity, architectural quality, and compliance with the regulations of this Title and with the adopted Uniform Building Code.
- (b) Criteria. An application for Planning Commission Review as required by the provision of subsection (c) shall be subject to the following criteria in addition to all other applicable land use and development standards in this chapter:
- (1) The building to be moved shall be compatible with structures in the vicinity of the lot on which it is to be situated in terms of architecture, floor area, massing and bulk.
- (2) The building to be moved shall have no detrimental effect on the living environment and property values in the area into which it is to be moved.
- (3) If the vacated site is within the City, a bond shall be posted to cover the costs of cleaning the vacated site and restoring it to a safe and sightly condition.
- (c) Planning Commission Review required. No building shall be moved into the City, or moved within the City from one lot to another, except by approval of the Planning Commission pursuant to Section 10-2.2502 (Planning Commission Review).
- (d) Submittal of Building Inspection Report. In addition to the application requirements in Section 10-2.2502 (Planning Commission Review), a Building Inspection Report shall be submitted that evaluates the overall condition of the building, as inspected and described in writing by a certified building inspector. The report shall include photographs and diagrams as necessary and shall enumerate all changes or alterations necessary to bring the building up to current Uniform Building Code standards.
