City Council to consider addtional regulations on Motorized Leaf Blowers

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH IS SEEKING YOUR INPUT PRIOR TO CONSIDERING ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS AND A POTENTIAL PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF MOTORIZED LEAF BLOWERS

Dear Stakeholder:

The Redondo Beach City Council is considering regulations and restrictions on the use of motorized leaf blowers. At this time no specific actions have been proposed. However, it is possible that one or more of the following amendments to the Municipal Code may be considered:

  • Additional restrictions on the hours and/or days of operation

  • A complete ban or prohibition of leaf blowers in all zones

  • A partial or complete ban or prohibition in residential zones

  • A complete ban or prohibition of gas-powered motorized leaf blowers

  • Additional restrictions or regulations on maximum noise emissions

  • Additional restrictions or regulation on the collection and disposal of waste and debris

  • Other regulations as deemed necessary by the City Council

The Community Development Department is preparing a report to the City Council on options for regulation of motorized leaf blowers in advance of a Public Meeting on January 9, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, Redondo Beach City Hall, 415 Diamond Street, Redondo Beach, CA.
