The first meeting of the City's General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) took place on Thursday April 27, 2017. It was a productive meeting, which included member introductions and an overview of the Brown Act, General Plan 101, and the update process. Members now have guiding principals and basic understanding of what their roles will be as the process evolves over the next 10 months. The meeting also included City staff introductions, and was facilitated by representatives of Placeworks, Inc. a highly skilled and respected firm in the area of urban planning and land use. Placeworks will continue to provide facilitation services for each meeting. Members of the general public also attended and observed the meeting from the audience seats. Meeting materials can be viewed here.
The next GPAC meeting will take place on Thursday June 8th, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Main Library 2nd Floor Conference Room. Subsequent meetings are tentatively scheduled for the last Thursday of each month.
