GENERAL PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (GPAC)

The purpose of the GPAC is to advise the Planning Commission and Mayor and CityCouncil on (1)specific recommendations on policies to be incorporated into the Land Use and Conservation, Recreation and Park, and Open Space Elements of the City's General Plan, (2) creating a baseline of information about our current land use and planning processes and procedures, (3) addressing concerns relating to density and development associated with the City’s mixed use zoning and development standards, and(4) addressing concerns relating to the availability and amount of recreation and parks, and open space areas within the City. The Committee shall also perform any other functions that may be designated by motion or resolution of the City Council.
The Mayor and City Council established the 27 member GPAC. The Mayor selected two (2) members, one (1) of which shall serve as the Chair of the Committee. Each City Council Member selected five (5) members, three (3) of which must reside in their District. All GPAC members must reside within the City of Redondo Beach.
