Beryl Street Improvement Project

Not One—But TWO Great Cities Working Together

The Cities of Redondo Beach and Torrance saw a need and came together to solve it. On May 17, 2016, the City of Redondo Beach Council approved and awarded the Beryl Street Improvement Project to Sully Miller Company. While the project lies within the city limits of both Redondo Beach and Torrance, Redondo is the lead agency. Torrance who worked closely with Redondo throughout the design and scheduling of the $2M project will partially fund their portion of the project. Redondo has also worked closely with Torrance Unified School District in scheduling the work to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The project includes roadway widening and reconstruction of Beryl Street, extension of the existing storm drain system, and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Beryl Street and 190th. Street improvements include construction of new asphalt, bike lanes, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalks, and ADA ramps.

Beryl Street will be closed during the summer to through traffic from Flagler to 190th Street with the contractor working to reopen the street in time for the new school year.
