The City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider adjustments to the user fees of the Police and Recreation, Transit & Community Services, Waterfront and Economic Development and Financial Services Departments during its June 18, 2013 meeting starting at 6:00 p.m. The modified user fees are proposed to ensure that general taxes are not used to subsidize the fees for service programs. The City consistently looks for ways to trim costs, but also must calculate fee adjustments to adequately cover the cost of services. User fees by law may not exceed the reasonable cost of providing a service.
