The Tri City Dances are hosted and sponsored by the Redondo Beach Teen Center and the South Bay Coalition’s Youth Advisory Committee.The purpose of these dances is to provide a safe, drug-free environment for middle school students to interact and socialize in a positive social event.It also allows participants to meet students from various middle schools in Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach.These dances have been ongoing for approximately 10 years now and we hope to continue to host these popular and fulfilling dances for many more to come.
1.Are these dances supervised?
Absolutely!We make sure to have plenty of recreation staff available to handle the large number of participants that attend this event.We also have 2 (two) RBPD officers on site to help prevent any problems.
2.Are the schools involved in these dances?
These dances are hosted by the Redondo Beach Teen Center and the Youth Advisory Committee for middle school students.No school district funds are spent on these dances.
3.What is the cost?
The cost of admission is (and has be in the past) only $3.00.The first 50 students to show up with a valid school ID are given a number or stamp which gives them $1.00 off the cost of admission.Fee waivers for admission are available.We also provide refreshments for participants for an additional $.50 per soft drink/bottled water.

5.What time are the dances held?
The dances run from 7-9PM.We request that the participant’s parent/guardian promptly pick them up immediately following the dances.
Note:Many problems have arisen at McDonald’s on the corner of Manhattan Beach Blvd and Aviation Blvd following the dances. Staff strongly suggests that the youth not be allowed to go there unsupervised.
