Living in Redondo Beach

Redondo Beach is primarily a residential community with a population of 63,261[1]in an area of 6.35 square miles. The median price of a single family home is $785,000.[2] The City manages its own public safety with 109 police officers and 67 firefighters, paramedics and harbor patrol officers. There are fifteen parks, thirteen parkettes, a recreational waterfront featuring two miles of sandy beaches, the Redondo Beach Pier and King Harbor area, two libraries, five community centers and a 1,400 seat performing arts theater – home of the award-winning CivicLight Opera of South Bay. The twelve public schools in Redondo Beach are among the finest “distinguished schools” in the country (see Redondo Beach Unified School District).

A variety of family events are held year-round throughout the City. Residents will find an abundance of programming for seniors and children, and ample assistance for those seeking housing or employment.

The City is proud to provide a full range of municipal services.
