As a victim in a pending criminal case, how can I find out if the defendant has been bailed or released from jail?
Contact the Police Department Records Unit at 310-379-2477 extension 2305.

How do I report a burglary?
If this is happening now, call 9-1-1. You will be asked questions that will assist the officers in apprehending the suspect(s).

If you have just discovered a burglary that has already occurred, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

How do I report child abuse?
If this is happening now, call 9-1-1.

If this is not happening now, but you desire a police report, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

If you do not want to call either of the above numbers, you may also call the Department of Children and Family Services Child Abuse Hotline at 800-540-4400.

How do I report cruelty to animals?
Call our Animal Control immediately at 310-318-0611 and give us the appropriate information on the suspected abuse.

How do I report drug dealing?
To report drug dealing that is happening right now, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

To provide Detectives with information on suspected drug dealing, call 310-379-2477, Ext. 2640.

You may also provide anonymous information at 1-800-78-CRIME or www.WeTip.com.

How do I report gang activity?
To report a crime in progress, call 9-1-1.

To report a gang gathering or loitering, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

To provide information on gang activities that are not occurring right now, call Detectives at 310-379-2477, Ext. 2714.

How do I report graffiti?
If this is happening now, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

If you are reporting graffiti that has already occurred, call the Graffiti Hotline at 310-318-0685, and leave the requested information. They will handle documentation of the crime and arrange for clean up, if necessary.



How do I report information about a crime?
If you know of information that may assist police officials in investigating a crime, please call 310-379-5411.

If your information concerns a crime that is happening now, call 9-1-1.

How do I report spousal abuse?
If this is happening now, call 9-1-1.

How do I report a hate crime?
If this is occurring now, call 9-1-1.

If this is not in progress, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

How/When do I use Small Claims Court

You can contact the Small Claims Court at (310) 419-1396. The Small Claims Court is located at the Inglewood Courthouse located at One Regent Street, Inglewood, CA.  The courthouse is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the Clerk's Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except court holidays. Small Claims Court handles civil cases asking for $10,000.00 or less. Small Claims Court is designed to be simple, quick, and cost less than a regular civil lawsuit.  In Small Claims Court there are:  No lawyers; No rules of evidence and No juries.  If you are suing, then you are the plaintiff. If you are being sued, then you are the defendant. Both the plaintiff and defendant can be called claimant or parties.
