Anderson Park is a 12.4-acre park located between Rindge and Vail Avenues in northern Redondo Beach. Facilities include the Anderson Park Senior Center, the Anderson Park Annex, the Anderson Park Scout Houses, children's play area and basketball and tennis courts.
The Anderson Park Senior Center (3007 Vail Avenue) is a 4,200 sq. ft. building that includes a large meeting room (capacity 167 persons assembly and 78 dining) with adjacent kitchen, small multi-purpose room (capacity 127 assembly and 80 dining) with one pullman kitchen, lobby and restrooms. The building is used for senior activities approximately 45 hours per week. The South Bay Adult Care Center uses the facility approximately 24 hours per week. Other community groups use the facility on an occasional basis.
The Anderson Park Annex (3105 Vail Avenue) is a 729 sq. ft. building located on the northeast corner of Anderson Park. The former house currently houses the Redondo Beach Recreation Preschool Class. This City Recreation Class provides preschool basics for children ages 3-5. The Preschool offers classes approximately 8 hours per week. The facility presently consists of one room, two restrooms and pullman kitchen. Occupancy is limited to a maximum of 21 persons.
Anderson Park Scout Houses (2220 Farrell Avenue - Boy Scouts; 2228 Farrell Avenue - Girl Scouts) are two former houses currently used exclusively by the Girl Scouts of America and the Boy Scouts of America for meetings and activities. The Girl Scout House is 1,036 sq. ft. The Boy Scout House is 975 sq. ft. An adjacent garage is 441 sq. ft.
The Anderson Park Basketball/Tennis Courts are primarily used for informal tennis and basketball play. City Recreation tennis classes use the two tennis courts approximately 20 hours per week during the year. The courts are lighted.
