Robbery Suspect Arrested in Redondo Beach
Redondo Beach Police Officers arrested a Los
Angeles man today and charged him with robbery, kidnapping and false
imprisonment. At 9:00 A.M. this morning, two suspects entered Ben Bridge
Jewelers, the store is located at the South Bay Galleria. They entered the
store as it was preparing to open. The suspects then bound the victim's
hands and feet and removed thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and expensive
watches, loading the property into large trash bags.
The suspects fled the mall in a stolen vehicle,
but were spotted by a Redondo Beach Police Motor Officer on Artesia Blvd.
The officers pursued the suspects until they pulled into a gas station at 170th
St. and Hawthorne Blvd. in an attempt to elude capture. Officers then
chased the suspects on foot, surrounding a neighborhood block in the City of
Lawndale. A Redondo Beach Police K9 located the one suspect hiding in a
shed, in the backyard of a house in the 4200 block of 170th St.
The second suspect was not located; he is
described as a male black in this twenties. The vehicle and the property
were recovered. The suspect, Andre Davis 30 years-old from Los Angeles was
booked at the Redondo Beach Police Dept. For further information contact
