Fatal Traffic Accident
On
Sunday, July 29, 2001 at 5:27 p.m., a Harbor City teenager was killed in a
traffic accident which occurred at the intersection of Inglewood Avenue and
182nd Street in the City of Redondo Beach. The 17 year-old male victim was a
passenger in a 1965 Volkswagon bug driven by 18 year old Cory Schepp of
Torrance. The Volkswagen containing the teenagers was traveling south on
Inglewood Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto 182nd Street. They were
struck head-on by the Honda which was traveling north on Inglewood Avenue.
The 17
year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Redondo Beach Fire
Department Paramedics. The two other parties were transported to Harbor U.C.L.A.
Medical Center Trauma Unit for medical treatment. At the time of this press
release both drivers were listed in serious but stable condition. The identity
of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
