Motel Shooting

On May 27, at about 8:56 p.m., the Redondo Beach Communications Center received a call regarding a shooting at the East/West Inn, 435 South Pacific Coast Highway. Officers responded to the location and discovered that both the suspects and the victim had left the scene.  In the initial investigation, witnessses provided officers descriptions of four suspects and a suspect vehicle. The male adult victim, a thirty-nine year old, Robert Limon, from Torrance, California, was located at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.  The victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder.  He underwent surgery and was in good condition.

At about 9:02 p.m., Torrance police officers stopped a vehicle occupied by four male adult subjects on an unrelated matter. While conducting their investigation, the Torrance officers heard a radio broadcast describing subjects and a vehicle involved in the Redondo Beach assault.  The descriptions matched the subjects and vehicle they had detained. Further investigation resulted in the arrests of all four subjects by the Redondo Beach Police Department for suspicion of attempted murder, pending further investigation. The four subjects were from Torrance, Wilmington, San Pedro and Lomita.

Sergeant Mike Adye prepared this press release.  Further questions should be directed to Sergeant Phil Keenan at 310-379-2477 extension 2309 or to Captain Jeff Cameron at extension 2652.
