Motel Shooting
On May
27, at about 8:56 p.m., the Redondo Beach Communications Center received a call
regarding a shooting at the East/West Inn, 435 South Pacific Coast Highway.
Officers responded to the location and discovered that both the suspects and the
victim had left the scene. In the initial investigation, witnessses provided
officers descriptions of four suspects and a suspect vehicle. The male adult
victim, a thirty-nine year old, Robert Limon, from Torrance, California, was
located at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance. The victim had
sustained a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder. He underwent surgery and
was in good condition.
At about
9:02 p.m., Torrance police officers stopped a vehicle occupied by four male
adult subjects on an unrelated matter. While conducting their investigation, the
Torrance officers heard a radio broadcast describing subjects and a vehicle
involved in the Redondo Beach assault. The descriptions matched the subjects
and vehicle they had detained. Further investigation resulted in the arrests of
all four subjects by the Redondo Beach Police Department for suspicion of
attempted murder, pending further investigation. The four subjects were from
Torrance, Wilmington, San Pedro and Lomita.
