The department is divided into two major components that are designated as bureaus. The Operations Bureau and the Support Services Bureaus. Each bureau is managed by a Police Captain who holds the title of Bureau Commander and reports directly to the
Chief of Police.
The Operations Bureau includes two divisions which provide 24 hour uniformed police patrol and investigation of criminal offenses. The goal of the Operations Bureau is to provide the citizenry with prompt, courteous, and professional services and to preserve the public peace through the enforcement of State and local laws and through the deterrence and apprehension of criminal offenders.
