Walk-in counter hours for the Planning Division are Monday through Thursday and alternating Fridays, from 7:30am - 1:00pm
The Planning Division consists of the Planning administration and Code Enforcement.
The Planning Division is responsible for administering long-range and current planning programs, as guided by the adopted General Plan and Zoning Ordinance. Specific programs of the Planning Division include:
Maintaining and updating the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance
Special Projects (e.g. Residential Design Standards, Heart of the City Specific Plan, etc.)
Administration of the Historic Preservation Program
Service as a resource to the citizens, as well as other departments and agencies, regarding planning matters within the community.
Consultations with a City Planner are available on a walk-in basis in the morning from 7:30am to 1:00pm. Afternoons are by appointment only. City Hall is closed every other Friday and on weekends.
Code Enforcement programs enhance the quality of life in Redondo Beach through the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance and Building Code. (NOTE: enforcement of parking regulations and animal control regulations are administered through the Police Department.)

Waterfront Project October 19, 2016
The Harbor Commission began consideration of the Waterfront Project on June 13, 2016, and concluded its consideration on August 8, 2016, certifying the Final EIR and approving the project entitlements. An appeal of the Harbor Commission decision was filed, and the project was considered by the City Council at a public hearing held on Tuesday October 18, 2016 at 6:00pm, at which time the City Council denied the appeal and sustained the Harbor Commission approvals.
