The Transit Division is responsible for the installation and maintenance of bus benches and shelters.  There are currently 195 terra-cotta bus benches and 77 shelters that were installed at bus stops throughout the City in 1991. A Capital Improvement Project has been scheduled for FY 2004-2005 wherein the existing shelters and benches will be replaced with new shelters and benches designed to discourage graffiti, consisting of materials better suited for beach conditions and esthetically suited to encourage transit ridership and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
