The Redevelopment Agency has contributed approx. $10 million to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center
The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redondo Beach was established on April 30, 1962 to rehabilitate blighted areas within the boundaries of the City of Redondo Beach. The Agency is a
distinct public entity that adopts and maintains its own budget and is legally separate from the City of Redondo Beach. However, the Agency is closely linked to the City by overlapping administration with the City Council serving as the Redevelopment Agency Board, the City Manager serving as the Agency?s Executive Director/Secretary, the City Attorney serving as the Agency Counsel, the City Treasurer serving as the Agency Treasurer, and the City staff serving as the Agency staff. The Agency reimburses the City for administrative and overhead support. It also provides funds for City capital improvement projects that provide a direct benefit to the redevelopment project areas.
The Agency contributed approximately $5 million to the City's Main Library building
Typical of Redevelopment Agencies in California, our Redevelopment Agency is made up of the Mayor and the City Council.
