In accordance to Section 19851 Inspection of Records, Health & Safety Code, copies of plans may not be duplicated in whole or in part except with the written permission of the certified, licensed or registered professional or his successor, if any, who signed the original documents and the written permission of the owner of such building, or by order of a proper court.

In view of the above state law, prior to honoring any request for duplicate, a signed authorization by the professional designer and building owner must be on file with the Building Department.

(The City may require additional proof to verify authenticity of signature.)
