Welcome to the City Manager's Office

Our Department Mission is to effectively implement the City Council's policies, priorities and the Strategic Plan; ensure responsible organizational and fiscal management; and promote open and responsive communication with the community.

The City Manager's Office provides oversight, direction and assistance to all departments to ensure the achievement of City Council goals and objectives, responsible fiscal management, continuous organizational development and process improvement, and appropriate organizational response to current events. The City Manager and staff oversee and monitor the Strategic Plan, City budget, capital improvement and performance measurement programs; monitor federal and state legislative activities and provide policy recommendations to Council; oversee cable television franchise and coordinate telecommunications facilities agreements; and implement the E-government Strategic Plan to insure rapid and efficient deployment of online government services.

Community Promotion:
We also keep the public informed of activities and services through a full range of media and public outreach services and maintain communication and collaborative efforts with the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau. Activities include development of the annual Citizen Opinion Poll, annual wall calendar, quarterly newsletter, and press releases; broadcasting and videotaping of meetings; development of promotional and presentation materials for special meetings and projects; joint production (with Chamber of Commerce) of City Business and Community Guide.

Redevelopment Agency/Public Finance Authority
The City Manager's Office oversees the financing of community revitalization within the Agency's existing project areas, provides recommendations to the Council and the Agency regarding new project areas, and implements increases, preservations and improvements in the number of low and moderate income housing units within the City.
