Polling Locations
The General Municipal Election of March 5, 2019 is an All Mail Ballot. Please mail your ballots before or on Election Day, or visit your nearest ballot drop-off location in the City on Election Day between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Click on the link above to find the drop-off location nearest you!

General Municipal Elections
General Municipal Elections to fill elective offices shall be held in the City on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March of each succeeding odd-numbered year to fill the offices of persons whose terms expire on March 31st next succeeding the election. Each person elected at a General Municipal Election shall hold office for a term of four years from April 1st next succeeding his election. General Municipal Elections shall be consolidated with Board of Education elections.
Nomination Period and Eligibility
Nomination period for elective offices generally take place in the month of November previous to the March election. Please refer to the City’s Charter for detailed information regarding procedure, vacancies, eligibility, and compensation. Call (310) 318-0656 to schedule an appointment.
Election Official
The City Clerk serves as the City's Election Official and is available to assist with any election inquires.
Voter Registration Deadline
The deadline to register or re-register to vote for any election is 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 15th calendar day before that election. If you submit an application after this time, your application will still be processed for future elections.
