Purpose

Consists of 5 Members. The board shall: hear written appeals brought by any person regarding action taken by the building division or the City in the enforcement of the requirements of Health and Safety Code, Part 5.5, including the exceptions contained in Section 19957. The Board may approve or disapprove interpretation of Health and Safety Code, Part 5.5, and enforcement actions taken by the building department. All such approvals or disapprovals shall be final and conclusive as to the building department of the City, in the absence of fraud or abuse of discretion. The Board shall adopt regulations establishing procedural rules and criteria for carrying out its duties. Ord. 2624 c.s., Adopted 5-04-91

Qualifications

2 members shall be persons experienced in construction; 2 members shall be physically handicapped persons, plus one other public member.
