3.  Inspection Type (reference your inspection card for the inspection type)
4.  Telephone number preferably cell number, where the inspector can contact you the morning of the inspection to confirm the inspection.

INSPECTIONS:

1.  Approved plans and Inspection Card are required to be onsite for inspections. The Permittee shall provide a printed set of City Approved Plans a minimum size of 24" x 36", and for Solar a minimum size of 11" x 17".
NOTE: Should approved plans not be onsite the inspector shall issue a Not Ready (NR) correction and the inspection shall be rescheduled.

2.  For on-site inspections during a COVID-19 strain/ variant outbreak, the City will require the contractor to have only one point person; ideally the Superintendent who is not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms on-site with no other workers in the immediate vicinity during inspection. Social distancing of 6 feet will be required between the person at the site and the inspector. Inspectors will be provided with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform the inspection.

3.  In a COVID-19 strain/ variant outbreak, inspections that can be performed via mobile device are the preferred method.

Inspectors will walk you through the inspection process identifying if any items require correction. After the inspection, the inspector will inform you if you passed the inspection or what the next applicable step is. If a correction notice is required, the inspector will send you an e-mail with a list of any items that need to be addressed. Once the repairs are completed you may request a re-inspection.

VIRTUAL LIVE INSPECTION PREPARATION:

A.  Before the start of inspection have all necessary tools available (such as a tape measure, screwdriver, level, GFCI tester, ladder, etc…) necessary to perform the inspection.
B.  Make sure your device is fully charged, with notifications turned off that may interrupt the inspection.
C.  Be ready to receive and respond to a video call from the City Inspector at the scheduled day and time. Having earbuds with a microphone greatly improves communication.
D.  Ensuring no unnecessary sounds are present (power tools, radio, etc…) helps improve communication clarity as well.
E.  When plans reviewed by the City are involved in the project, these city-approved plans will be required for all virtual live inspections.

VIRTUAL LIVE INSPECTION PROCESS:

F.   Each inspection will begin at the street view to verify the location by showing the structure and property address and construction signage.
G. To ensure consistency please start the inspection from the front entry, walking the inspection in a clockwise direction horizontally on each floor, starting at the bottom floor if there are multiple levels while following the direction of the inspector.
H. The inspector will inform you if any corrections were found during the inspection and provide a correction notice (if necessary) to you by e-mail. If there were no corrections identified, a written approval by e-mail will let you know you passed the inspection.
I.  Once the inspection is completed and the virtual call ends, the inspector will enter the results into our permitting system, and email the contractor the results.
